"The
Fort Worth Country Day School support organization for the creative
arts-band, choir, orchestra, theatre, ballet, photography, and
all forms of visual art-was established in the spring of 2006.
The purpose of the organization is to support and nurture the
creative arts students and teachers of FWCDS with physical,
educational and financial resources. Membership is open to any
person wishing to support the creative arts.
The search for an appropriate name, which would reflect the
artistic enterprise of the organization, began in early spring
2006. The nickname "C.A.S.T." evolved from a brainstorming
session which discovered that the collective term for a group
of falcons (the FWCDS mascot) is a "cast" of falcons.
Further thinking produced the acronym C.A.S.T., which stands
for: Creative Arts Students and Teachers. Since the purpose
of the organization is to support the endeavors of the creative
arts students and teachers, it made sense to add the word "supporting"
to the acronym to reflect the actions of the members. Thus,
Supporting C.A.S.T. was born.
The mission and the name are the same. The mission of Supporting
C.A.S.T. is: Supporting Creative Arts Students and Teachers."
